Erosion Control and Restoration Plan
for
Companion Animal Hospital dog play area
Located at 1321 Duckwood Drive
Earth work for this project includes:
1. Removal of approximately 15 yards of topsoil, limestone, clay mix from a 13"X 75"area along
the south side of the building located at 1321 Duckwood Drive. Depending on its quality, this
excavated material will be spread on the property and/or hauled off-site.
2. Construction of a 19.5"high X 109' long retaining wall.
3. Fill 13'X 105"area between retaining wall and building with limestone and compact.
4. Cover the limestone with artificial turf.
During Construction:
1. Use 8" diameter silt sock to prevent erosion of excavated material spread on site into settling
pond. Place the silt socks between the excavated material and pond in order to trap runoff.
Place the silt sock in an open "U" laterally across the incline with the ends higher up. Place
stakes every 4'to 8'to hold in place.
2. Place tarps over materials stored on the parking lot to prevent erosion into catch basins.
3. Place a short piece of silt sock at the upstream side of the parking lot catch basin to prevent
erosion into the storm sewer.
4. The retaining wall(in place)will prevent erosion in the work area along the south side of the
building.
After construction:
1. Leave silt sock on slope in place. When sod is established, cut off and dispose of casing.
2. Sweep and remove all aggregate from parking lot, curbs and sidewalks.
3. Repair areas where sod was damaged by equipment or where excavated material was spread
(reseed or sod).
4. Seed the 109'strip at the base of the retaining wall.
5. Monitor for signs of erosion into pond.
Note:
This"Erosion Control and Restoration Plan" is based on recommendations made by a city of Eagan
stormwater technician during a site visit on 5/6/2020.

Eagan zoning,
We are in the process of expanding our small outdoor carpet dog play area. The expansion is an area of approximately
13'X 75'. The new area will be made up of a class 5 and 3/8-minus base covered with outdoor carpet. This area will be
surrounded by a 18"—20"wide 4"concrete slab with a 5' high chain-link fence.
The existing play area (^'13'X 30')is being regraded (for improved safety/usability)and the carpet replaced. See
attachment.
These carpet areas are used to exercise dogs in the spring and fall when the sodded grass play area is easily damaged
due to spring melt or excessive rain.
Note that the number of dogs boarded (and walked)will not change due to this work.
Feel free to call me at 612 227-0102 if you have questions or need additional information.
