MEETING MINUTES OF JANUARY 27, 2020
A regular meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) began at 7:00 p.m.
on Monday, January 27, 2020. Commission Members present included Member Palmer,
Member McWilliams, Member Klein, Member Moore, Member Hough, Member Pagey and
Member Rayman. Member Schuetzle was absent. Staff members present Parks and
Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Facility Manager Mark Vaughan, Facility Supervisor
Carrie Anderson and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jared Flewellen.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Member Klein asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Director
Pimental stated there were no changes. Member Rayman moved, Member Hough seconded,
with all members present voting to adopt the agenda as presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0
APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
Member Pagey moved, Member McWilliams seconded, with all present members voting in
favor to approve the minutes of November 18, 2019 workshop meeting, with changes as
noted. Aye:7 Nay: 0
VISITORS TO BE HEARD -
There were no visitors to be heard at this time.

PRESENTATIONS
Civic Arena / Cascade Bay
Facility Manager Mark Vaughan presented stats and facts from the 2019 seasons at the Eagan
Civic Arena and Cascade Bay.
Eagan Community Center
Facility Supervisor Carrie Anderson presented stats and facts from 2019 on the Eagan
Community Center.
NEW BUSINESS
Recreation Facility Study
Director Andrew Pimental presented the Final Draft of the Recreation Facility Study that was
completed by the 292 Design Group. The Facility Study discussed future options for the Eagan
Art House, Eagan Civic Arena, Eagan Community Center, Cascade Bay and a potential indoor
turf facility.
Member Klein moved, Member Pagey seconded, with all present members voting in favor to
accept the 2020 Recreation Facility Study and recommend for approval. Aye: 7 Nay: 0
STAFF REPORTS
Department Highlights
Director Pimental presented Department Highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks
and Recreation Department.
ROUNDTABLE=
Member McWilliams expressed interest in additional marketing for Parks and Recreation
programs.
Member Moore echoed McWilliams comments regarding need for additional marketing.
Member Palmer was excited regarding the Ribbon Cutting of Trapp Farm Park.
Member Klein was also pleased with the turnout of the Ribbon Cutting and is looking forward
to 2020 projects.

Member Pagey was excited for future discussions regarding the Recreation Facility Study.
Member Hough expressed her excitement for the upcoming Art Block meeting and event in
2020.
Member Rayman also echoed McWilliams comments regarding the need for additional
marketing.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, Member Klein moved, Member Palmer seconded with all
members present voting to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
