Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental and Parks Superintendent Paul Graham. Due to active Thunderstorms being present in the area at the beginning of the meeting, a decision was made to discuss the CIP process and items for 2020 first, then go on the tour of facilities later. CIP Projects 2019-2023 Director Pimental and Superintendent Graham outlined the draft Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Projects for the years 2020-2024, with most focus being on the project list as we left off the conversation in 2018 for the development year of 2020. Commissioners provided feedback on priority and styles of projects as well as a recommendation on budget specific for several of the projects. Marketing of our recent successes as well as future projects was discussed in detail and will be a greater area of research and focus for staff in 2019/2020. It was announced by Director Pimental that with a new Director of Communications and Engagement, we anticipate some additional social media and other marketing growth to highlight not only our programs, but also facilities, new and old.
