06/17/2019 - Advisory Parks & Recreation CommissionREGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF THE ADVISORY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION Monday, June 17, 2019 MEETINGMINUTES OF JUNE 17, 2019 A regular meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) began at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019. Commission Members present included Member Palmer, Member McWilliams, Member Rayman, Member Klein, Member Moore and Member Pagey and Member Hough. Member Schuetzle was absent. Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Recreation Superintendent Paul Graham and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Klein asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated there were no changes. Member Klein moved, Member Hough seconded, with all members present voting to adopt the agenda as presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Hough moved, Member Pagey seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve the minutes of the March 18, 2019 workshop meeting, as presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 OLD BUSINESS 2019 Playground Selection Assistant Director Flewellen displayed the three playgrounds that were chosen and what locations they were chosen for. Miracle was chosen for Thresher Fields, Midwest Playgrounds for Country Home and Flagship for Oak Chase. 2019 CIP Update Director Pimental updated the status on all 2019 CIP projects and where each of them were at in the construction process. Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission June 17, 2019 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS Introduction of New Members Director Pimental introduced the two new commissioners appointed to the Energy an Environment Advisory Commission in 2019. • Member John Rayman was appointed to a two year term. • Member Lisa McWilliams was appointed to a two year term. • Member Britt Moore was appointed to a one year term. • Member Makayla Palmer was appointed to a one year term. The one year term is the vacant alternate position. Election of Officers Director Pimental called for nominations for the three commission positions: Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. Member Hough moved, Member Pagey seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve Commissioner Klein for the Chair position. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Member Klein moved, Member Hough seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve Commissioner Pagey for the Vice Chair position. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Member Klein moved, Member Pagey seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve Commissioner Hough for the Secretary position. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Sibley Terminal Industrial Park After discussion with the Commission, Member Klein moved, Member Hough seconded with all member present voting in favor of the development to be subject to cash trail and park dedication, payable at the time of Final Plat at the rates then effect. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission June 17, 2019 Page 3 APRC Calendar Director Pimental presented the calendar of meeting dates for the 2019-2020 meetings. 2019 CIP Projects Superintendent Graham updates the commissioners on the 2019 park projects that are currently in development as well as projects still to begin. CIP Planning and Tours Director Pimental presented future CIP projects as well as discussed where possible tour locations would be for upcoming meetings. STAFF REPORTS Department Highlights Director Pimental presented Department Highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department. ROUNDTABLE Member Klein recapped the Holz Farm Spring Festival. Member Palmer, Member McWilliams and Member Rayman expressed their excitement to be on the commission. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Member Hough moved, Member Klein seconded with all members present voting to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m. Secretary .'
