02/25/2019 - Advisory Parks & Recreation CommissionREGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF THE ADVISORY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION Monday, February 25, 2019 MEETING MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 25, 2019 A regular meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) began at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019. Commission Members present included Member Michael Palmer, Member Jerry Farlee, Member Nathan Neuman, Member Aileen Hough, Member Linda Klein, Member Molly Schuetzle, Member Dorothy Peterson and Member Anita Pagey. Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Parks Superintendent Paul Graham and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Palmer asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated there were no changes. Member Peterson moved, Member Neuman seconded, with all members present voting to adopt the agenda as presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Klein moved, Member Farlee seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve the minutes of the January 28, 2019 workshop meeting, as presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 OLD BUSINESS Trapp Farm Park Shelter Bids Director Pimental provided information regarding the recent Trapp Farm Park Shelter Building construction bids. The low bid was over the budgeted expense for the project, thus causing the approved Capital Improvement Project to be under funded. Director Pimental asked for feedback regarding the timing of the project and any associated pros and cons that would come with delaying the project to a future date. Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission February 25, 2019 Page 2 Member Peterson moved, Member Klein seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve the continuance of the project and ask for CIP funding to be amended as needed to contract with low bid. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 STAFF REPORTS Department Highlights Director Pimental presented Department Highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department. ROUNDTABLE Member Schuetzle was excited about the Art Bench selection process and interviews. Member Neuman thanked staff for displaying playground RFP. Member Klein was excited about the Art Bench selection process and interviews. Member Palmer thanked staff for hard work during difficult weather conditions. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Member Klein moved, Member Schuetzle seconded with all members present voting to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:41 p.m. ��.
