MINUTES OF MEETING'OF APRIL 13, 2021
A regular meeting of the Eagan Energy and Environment Advisory Commission (EEAC) was held on Tuesday, April
13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. virtually. Those present were Member Hash, Member Ziese, Member Robicheaux,
Member Trzpuc, Member Dugan, Member Palmer and Member Timmons. Staff member present was Assistant
Director of Parks and Recreation Jared Flewellen.
APPROVAL. OF AGENDA
Member Trzpuc asked if there were any changes and Assistant Director Flewellen stated none. Member
Timmons moved, Member Robicheaux seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda
with changes. Aye: 7 Nay: 0
APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
Member Palmer moved to approve the minutes from February 9, 2021 meeting, Member Timmons seconded,
with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0
There were no visitors to be heard.
VISITORS TO,BE HEARD
PRESENTATIONS
MN Waste Wise
Assistant Director Flewellen introduced Erin Hertog and Rob Friend from Minnesota Waste Wise Foundation.
Erin Hertog presented information on the Dakota County Recycling Grant Program. Hertog introduced the
organization and talked about how MN Waste Wise provides recycling assistance to meet state and county
goals. Hertog further discussed who is eligible for the grant and steps needed to qualify for assistance. Lastly,

she explained different organizations that were already in the program and how they are executing recycling in
their business.
OLD. BUSINESS
Sub -committee updated:
Education & Outreach — Working through the committees two step approach; website and survey. Survey has
been distributed with 109 total surveys completed. Water quality and conservation were the top two recorded
interests. The website has focused on updating three pages which has been completed. The further overhaul
and organization of webpages is still in the works.
Research Single Use Take -Out Containers—Compostable Readiness Report draft is complete and has been sent
to Commission and staff for review.
ROUNDTABLE
Commissioner Dugan thanked all outgoing Commissioners for their efforts during the term.
DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Assistant Director Flewellen reviewed the current events and news related to the City of Eagan in the topics of
energy and environment.
ADJOURNMENT
After further brief discussion, Member Dugan moved, Member Timmons seconded with all members present
voting in favor to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 6:57 p,m.
