02/09/2021 - Energy and Environment Advisory CommissionEAGAN r5TAnusHcn 1000 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION Tuesday, February 9, 2021 MINUTES OF MEETING' O.F FEBRUARY -9 2021 A regular meeting of the Eagan Energy and Environment Advisory Commission (EEAC) was held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. virtually. Those present were Member Hash, Member Ziese, Member Robicheaux, Member Trzpuc, Member Dugan, Member Palmer and Member Timmons. Staff members present were Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental, Director of Communications and Engagement Joe Ellickson and Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jared Flewellen. APPROVALOFAGENDA Member Trzpuc asked if there were any changes and Director Pimental stated none. Member Timmons moved, Member Ziese seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda with changes. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 APPROUAL;OF.MA,gINO MINUTE$ Member Timmons moved to approve the minutes from December 8, 2020 meeting, Member Robicheaux seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 There were no visitors to be heard. VISITORSTO BEHEARD PRESENTATIONS Eagan Communications Director Andrew Pimental introduced Director Joe Ellickson to discuss the various methods of communications and outreach that the City of Eagan does on topics related to energy and environment. Director Ellickson went through a variety of distribution channels that the City of Eagan uses to distribute information. Director Ellickson Energy and Environment Advisory Commission February 9. 2021 Page 2 also presented past topics related to energy and environment that were used in different communication channels such goats in the parks, radon, emerald ash borer and water quality. OwBOPNOSS Sub -committee updated: Education & Outreach — Working on developing a survey to distribute to Eagan residents to see what topics should be explored in the future and how they can be more involved with those topics. A future meeting will be coordinated with Director Ellickson to review that and ideas to further coordinate topics on the webpage. Research Single Use Take -Out Containers — Researching different local partners like Dakota County and the State of Minnesota program Waste Wise to see they compare to existing programs as well as how they can partner further. None at this time ROUNDTABLE DEPARTMENT UPDATES Director Pimental reviewed the current events and news related to the City of Eagan in the topics of energy and environment. ADJOURNMENT After further brief discussion, Member Robicheaux moved, Member Dugan seconded with all members present voting in favor to adjourn the meeting.
