MINUTES OF MEETING OF DECEMBER, 8, 2020
A regular meeting of the Eagan Energy and Environment Advisory Commission (EEAC) was held on Tuesday,
December 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. virtually. Those present were Member Hash, Member Ziese, Member
Robicheaux, Member Trzpuc, Member Dugan, Member Palmer, Member Supina and Member Timmons. Staff
members present were Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental and Assistant Director of Parks and
Recreation Jared Flewellen.
APPROVALOVAGENDA
Member Trzpuc asked if there were any changes and Director Pimental stated none. Member Timmons moved,
Member Dugan seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda with changes. Aye: 7

APPROVAL OF MEETING; MINUTIES
Member Palmer moved to approve the minutes from September 8, 2020 meeting, Member Dugan seconded,
with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0
There were no visitors to be heard.

PRESENTATIONS
Why Old is Green
Assistant Director Jared Flewellen introduced Rethos Education Manager, Natalie Heneghan. Rethos is
committed to building a community of homeowners, craftspeople, DlYers, Realtors, and anyone who cares
about (or cares for) old buildings. Rethos provides hands-on workshops and classes to connect people to the

tools, skills, and experiences they need to take good care of the places people love. Natalie Heneghan explained
how old buildings can be the greenest buildings.

Sub -committee updated:
Education & Outreach — Split the group into two groups. One will be working on developing a survey for
residents and local businesses. The other will be looking into updating the city webpages. Commissioner Hash
showed an example of the purposed survey. Commissioner Robicheaux showed an example of the purposed city
webpage updates
Research Single Use Take -Out Containers— Working towards setting up a future meeting.
ROUNDTABLE
Commissioner Supine— Elected to City Council and will take office in January S. After January S, Commissioner
Hash will be appointed from Alternate to an active member of the commission.
DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Director Pimental reviewed the current Parks and Recreation Department Covid-19 closures and plans for
reopening as well as Emerald Ash Borer updates.
ADJOURNMENT
After further brief discussion, Member Robicheaux moved, Member Supine seconded with all members present
voting in favor to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
