AIRPORT RELATIONS COMMISSION WORKSHOP
AUGUST 27, 2019
A meeting of the Eagan Airport Relations Commission was held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 6:30
p.m. Those present were Michael Johnson, Debra Dulligner, Theresa Hughes, Jeff Spartz, Bill Raker, Sam
Kunjummen, and Assistant City Administrator Miller. Joe Axmacher was excused. Philippe Girard was
absent.
AGENDA
Commissioner Spartz moved, Commissioner Raker seconded a motion to approve the agenda as
presented. All members voted in favor.
VISITORS TO BE HEARD
There were no visitors to be heard.
DISCUSS OPERATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE FAA
Assistant City Administrator Miller noted at the July 9, 2019 Airport Relations Commission (ARC)
meeting, FAA Regional Administrator Rebecca MacPherson provided an update regarding the impacts of
Converging Runway Operations (CRO). Likewise, the commission heard from Brad Juffer, MAC Manager
of Community Relations, with a comprehensive report on the recent Runway 17 Departure Operations
Report.
The Commission had a dialogue with ten residents regarding operational recommendations to the FAA.
The Commission discussed possible operational changes for the FAA’s consideration and recommended
correspondence be drafted to the Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) with recommendations and
inquiries for the FAA to consider to reduce the noise burden on Eagan residents. Miller noted the
Council would consider the letter as a consent item at their September 3 meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion by Commissioner Spartz, seconded by Commissioner Kunjummen the meeting adjourned
at 8:00 p.m. All members voted in favor.
