Commission Members present included Member McWilliams, Member Klein, Member Moore, Member Schuetzle, Member Hough, Member Pagey, Member Rayman and Member Power. Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Recreation Manager Tanya Mozingo, Ice Arena and Aquatics Manager Mark Vaughan, Facility and Projects Manager Chris Fleck and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Klein asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated there were none. Member Moore moved, Member Schuetzle seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda with changes. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Pagey moved to approve the minutes from January 25, 2021 meeting, Member Rayman seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 There were no visitors to be heard. VISITORS TO BE HEARD PRESENTATIONS City of Eagan Recreation Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission February 22, 2020 Page 2 Tanya Mozingo, City of Eagan's Recreation Manager, gave a presentation on the different subdivisions of the Recreation team including Preschool, Art House, Athletics, Seniors and Special Events. Mozingo discussed the changes made in 2020 and how the division pivoted due to the pandemic. Mozingo also highlighted new activities that participants can be active in currently and in the future. City of Eagan Civic Arena and Aquatics Mark Vaughan, City of Eagan's Ice Arena and Aquatics Manager, gave a presentation on the past year at the Eagan Civic Arena and Cascade Bay. Vaughan highlighted the changes made to Cascade Bay during the closure. Vaughan also discussed changes made at the Civic Arena during the pandemic. NEW BUSINESS Vikings Lakes Director Pimental updated the Commission on plans to receive deed on 12 acre parcel in Vikings Lakes development in 2021 after construction of trail in area this spring. Avery Pines Assistant Director Flewellen introduced the Avery Pines development. The applicant, Joe Morton, is requesting approval of a Rezoning from NB (Neighborhood Business) to PD (Planned Development) of 9.7 acres, and a Preliminary Subdivision to create 56 lots and an outlot and a Preliminary Planned Development to allow a townhome development upon approximately 9.7 acres located southeast of Red Pine Lane and Highway 3, legally described as Lots 1 & 2, Block 1, Red Pine Crossing. Member Schuetzle moved, Member Moore seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve park and trail dedication to be collected in the form of cash. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 ROUNDTABLE Member Power— Mentioned that her family is looking forward to the options for attending summer activities and that the fee options was well displayed in catalog. Member Schuetzle — Is excited for the art sale this year and thinks time slots will be a good option for Cascade Bay. Member Hough — Expressed appreciation for the senior activities that have been coordinated. Member Klein — Is looking forward to all the summer activities in 2021. ADJOURNMENT After further brief discussion, Member Schuetzle moved, Member Pagey seconded with all members present voting in favor to adjourn the meeting.
