No. 22 Husky finishing a ditch cies. tr
The Husky is unexcelled on ditch work.
The "HUSKY" sledge dogs of the North have the great-
est staying qualities of any animal known.
They can take it and take it and take it and still come up
smiling, ready for more.
The "HUSKY" all-purpose road grader -maintainers are
built just like that. The "lead dogs" in the road grader
field. They, too, can take it.
These three models are so designed, well built and of
such good materials that we

"Rolite" Roller Bearings
Tho "HUSKY" and tho "Northfield No. 2" Graders are equipped with
"Rolite" roller bearings in the wheels. The "Rolite" bearing has proven far
more satisfactory and efficient when used in light road machines of this type.
The "Rolite" bearing has been greatly improved of late years but our experi-
ence with it for over twenty years has shown that it always has been the
best for this class of work. It will stand more abuse and neglect due to nogli-
genoo of proper lubrication, though we are not r000mmonding such neglect. It
reduces the friction at least one-third and makes the grader pull at least 26 /v
lighter when In operation,

The "Husky" and No. 2 wheels are lubricated by Hydraulic Zerk fittings

The "HUSKY" Front End Control
For One -Man Operation Behind Tractors. Makes the Most Economical Maintainer. They Maintain Better Roads and Will
Cut Your Costs in Half.
Note the telescoping extension and oscillating stub tongue. The front controlled circle
lock release.
These Mechanical Front End Controls are the best and easiest operating of any. You
are sure to like them.
HYDRAULIC CONTROLS for front or rear operation, driven by an independent gas motor and pump mounted
on platform, can be supplied at a considerable increase in cost. They are extra fine.
Note the Goose -neck extension instead of front truck. It has a large oscillating Ball
and Socket connection to tractor drawbar which eliminates all loose play. Can be ar-
ranged to connect with any tractor draw bar.
The above plates, made from pen and ink sketches, give you every little detail as to bolts, nuts, zerk fittings, circle lock, ad-
justments, etc.
The NICO THREE-POINT Truck Hitch
shown to the left, works equally well for graders with or
without the front truck on grader. Usually a front end
extension or Truck Hitch to grader is best when front
truck is left off of the grader.

The BLADE PITCH Adjustment on all NORTH -
FIELDS is 45 degrees either way. Set blade to under-
cut 45 degrees to shave sod or to sharpen cutting edge

two pins and tip it instantly to any desired pitch.

one-third easier.
NOTE THE QUICK BLADE ARC PITCH ADJUSTMENT
This is the GOOD OLD STANDBY NO. 2 NORTHFIELD GRADER that has given such universal satisfaction for the past twenty years,
as an all purpose Patrolman's Grader. The "ROLITE" Roller Bearing Wheels make this 1293 POUND grader pull easier than any other grader
of 1000 pound weight. It is plenty strong for 4-horse work or a 10-20 tractor if discretion is used about hitting solid obstructions. No other make
has as great range or is as well built. This machine is the patrolman's favorite wherever it has been tried. It has A BIG TOOL BOX long
and large enough to hold a N0. 2 shovel, rain coat, sack of feed, tools and driver's lunch. It will outlast any other light grader. Many have
been in hard daily use for 10 to 15 years and are still going.
Use 6-ft., 61.4-ft. or 7-ft. Blade for heavy work and 8-ft. or 10-ft. Blade for Resurfacing and Dragging,
NOTICE
The Northfield No. 2 Maintenance Graders are equipped with
spring and rachet hold stops on hoist wheels so that blade will
stay put without having to hold same with your knees when
hands are removed from hoist wheels.
This picture shows a Northfield at work with a big 15.30 McCormick -
Deering tractor in Greenvale Township, Dakota County, Minnesota. Charles
Blesener, their Road Superintendent, built new roads and rebuilt their old
roads with this outfit. In many cases he would stall the tractor but never
a break on the grader. He actually built new roads at half the cost of
big 12-ft. grader outfits,

all vital points ... ball and socket connections ... correct speeds for all operations,
AND Tandem drive for smooth, powerful traction. Allis-Chalmers tandem drive
Models 54 and 42 are the only motor patrols possessing ALL of these features
... the only complete patrols.
A-C tandem, four or eight -wheel drive patrols provide positive traction for oil
mixing or ditching; for sandy conditions; steep grades; or rough, deeply furrowed
roads. The tandem assembly pivots freely on the rear drive axle, keeping all
wheels in constant contact with the ground, regardless of ground conditions.
A simple gear drive is employed in the
tandem assembly to transmit power
from the main drive shaft to the final
drive axles. All gears are mounted on
anti -friction bearings, and run in a bath
of oil assuring long life, and smooth,
silent, efficient transmission of power.
