Chicken permit - Description
745 Lasso Ln, Eagan MN 55123
Short description of statement of work. I intend to buy a metal shed, and house the chicken coop inside
this shed. The coop will be made of wood framing, 4' x 4.5' inside dimensions (not including nesting
boxes), and will exit the rear (south) of the shed. The chicken exit out the rear of the shed will have a
short, wooden tunnel that goes through an existing fence into the planned chicken run (6' x 8'). The
chicken run will be constructed of pressure treated lumber and rot resistant posts. Chicken wire and
welded wire will be used in conjunction to keep the chickens in, and predators out. The top of the run
will not be roofed, but will have fencing and netting. It will be presloped in case a roof is added at a later
time. %
The bottom of the shed floor (pressure treated lumber) will have welded wire stapled to it to keep large
predators out of the shed. The coop within the shed will have chicken wire or hardware cloth stapled to
the framing for rodent prevention. The rest of the shed space will be used to store chicken supplies, etc.
The chickens will not have access to the rest of the shed, only their coop and attached run.
The shed (and coop within) will be located outside the fenced in yard, the chicken run will be located
within the fenced in yard. Both located are well within all lot lines, and over 50' from all inhabitable
structures.
