The large junction of high- ways at the Mendota Heights - Eagan T o w n s h i p border is The Lexington Freeway, a major highway starting in St. Paul and continuing s o u t h along the West. The freeway is expected to be completed to Hwy. 55 in 1972 or 1973, about the same time as the two interstates, and will carry Hwy, 3 traffic. The status of Dakota County roads intersecting with the two interstates is: BURNSVILLE Full diamond interchange approved at County Road 42 and Interstate Hwv. 35E. Overpass planned at 138th St, and Interstate Hwy, 35E. No interchange.
