12/19/2016 - Advisory Parks & Recreation CommissionCity of Eapn MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ADVISORY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION Monday, December 19, 2016 MINUTES OF MEETING OF November 21, 2016 Approved 1-23-17 A workshop meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) was called to order at 6:32 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016. Commission Members present included Member Michael Palmer, Member Dorothy Peterson, Member Linda Klein, Member Jerry Farlee, Member Aileen Hough and Member Nathan Neuman. Staff members present included Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation Jared Flewellen, Parks Superintendent Paul Graham, Recreation Manager Paula Nowariak and Recreation Supervisor Tanya Mozingo. Not present was member Andrea Todd -Harlin and Member David Wietecki. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Palmer asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated that there was none. Member Peterson moved, Member Farlee seconded, with all members present voting to adopt the agenda as presented. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 VISITORS TO BE HEARD There were no visitors to be heard on items that were not on the agenda. OLD BUSINESS There was no Old Business to be heard on items that were not on the agenda. NEW BUSINESS Wetteland Addition Assistant Parks & Recreation Director Jared Flewellen gave a summary of the Wetteland Addition project. The applicant is proposing a Preliminary Subdivision consisting of 2 residential single family lots at 4540 Blackhawk Road. After discussion with the Commission, Member Peterson moved, Member Klein seconded with all member present voting in favor of the proposed dedication to be considered for recommendation to the to the City Council: Aye: 6 Nay: 0 STAFF REPORTS/PRESENTATIONS Recreation Manager Paula Nowariak introduced newly hired Recreation Supervisor Tanya Mozingo. Director Pimental distributed a planned outline of the APRC meetings for the 2017 calendar year. Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission December 19, 2016 Page 2 Director Pimental distributed and went over items in the monthly Department Happenings form. Director Pimental discussed with the commission the format and timeline of the open house meetings for 2017 Capital Improvement Projects. The commission discussed different components of the meetings for future considereation. ROUND TABLE Member Palmer commented on the progress of Trapp Farm Park Pavilion and how he is looking forward to completion Member Farlee expressed his approval of the hiring of Recreation Supervisor Mozingo. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Member Peterson moved, Member Hough seconded with all members present voting to adjourn the meeting.
