05/16/2016 - Advisory Parks & Recreation CommissionAm - City of Eagan Subject to approval MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ADVISORY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION Monday, May 16, 2016 MINUTES OF MEETING OF.May 16, 201.6 A special meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016. Commission Members present included Member Michael Palmer, Member Dorothy Peterson, Member Linda Klein and Member Aileen Hough. Member Andrea Todd - Harlin, Member David Wietecki, Member Jerry Farlee and Member Nathan Neuman were not present. Staff members present Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation Jared Flewellen and Water Resource Technician Jessie Koehle. Member Palmer asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated there were no changes. Member Peterson moved, Member Hough seconded, with all members present voting to adopt the agenda as presented. Aye: 4 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Peterson moved, Member Palmer seconded, with all present members voting in favor to approve the minutes of the April 18, 2016 regular meeting, as presented. Aye: 4 Nay: 0 VISITORS TO BE HEARD There were no visitors to be heard on items that were not on the agenda. DIRECTORS, UPDATE Director Pimental welcomed new and reappointed members. Newly appointed members were Member Aileen Hough and Member Linda Klein. Water Resource Technician Jessie Koehle recognized volunteers for Citizen Lake Monitoring Program. Water Resource Technician also provided information for the Wetland Health Evaluation Program. CONSENT AGENDA There are no consent agenda items to be discussed at this time. Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission May 16, 2016 Page 2 DEVELOPMENT.�PROPOSAL There are no development proposal items to be discussed at this time. OLD BUSINESS There were no old business items to be discussed at this time. NEW ,BUSINESS 2016-2017 Agenda Topics Director Pimental opened discussion with members on topics of interest for the 2016-2017 Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission meetings. An outline of meeting topics was discussed to set schedule for monthly meetings. OTHER BUSINESS AND REPORTS; There was no other business or reports on items that were not on the agenda. Assistant Parks and Recreation Flewellen presented three Parks and Recreation communication items; 2016 Spring/Summer Volunteer Newsletter, Arbor Day Poster Contest Winner and 2015 Parks and Recreation Annual Report. Chair Palmer gave thanks to the Eagan Civic Arena for their efforts regarding Eagan Civic Arena Ice Show and outdoor athletic fields. Chair Palmer also thanked outgoing members and welcomed new members. Member Peterson welcomed Director Pimental to his new appointment. Member Hough gave her appreciation of being a part of the commission. Member Klein gave thanks to the Parks and Recreation Department for providing the Holz Farm event. ,Au.)/isory Parks & Recreation Commission May 16, 2016 Page 3 ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Member Peterson moved, Member Hough seconded with all members present voting to adjourn the meeting.
