05/02/2023 - Eagan Historical Society Eagan Historical Society Meeting Minutes May 2, 2023 Present: Ashleigh Sullivan, Dawn Simpson, Lori Tripp, Mary Ellen Voracek, Pat Gegan, Leslie Chudnoff, Tim Dulac and Kim Hazel Meeting called to order at 11:12am. Historical Society Business New Business Lori brought some cleaning supplies, Dawn brought some cleaning towels, Kim went to City Hall and picked up a few cleaning supplies that were in the office. We need to continue working on idenitifying photos so we can make a display. We need to figure out a way to label them. Ashleigh suggested we use the “label maker” that is located at City Hall. Adam from Pane Masters arrived at 11:30 and started working on the outside windows of the building first. The passing of Patrick McCarthy at his home at the age of 87. The family contacted Pat Gegan to see if the Historical Society would like to go over to the McCarthy property and see if there are any items that we would be interested in. Pat and Lori will do this at some point. Pat, Lori and Tim will be attending the funeral at St. Peters tomorrow, (May 3). Pat Gegan said there are lots of items we could use over there for displays. Old Business Tim, Mary Ellen and Dawn will be at the OTH at 10:45am on Sunday, May7. Lori has been working on scanning photos. Tim said he has been having trouble getting logged in. Lori will help him and get him set up. No updates. Many comments on the tour last month of the Lawshe Museum. Other Notes of Interest Lori purchased ground anchors and cables with combination locks. Lori installed them today. Plat book has not arrived. They said it would be a few weeks. Ashleigh thinks we should create a form to fill out when photos are submitted by people via email. She also had a button from the 1980 Eagan Threshing Bee that was found in some of Joanna’s files. She also had a request from a citizen about the old Airliner Motel. She said Mike Scott was going to work on that. Everyone worked hard and got the inside and some outside work done. The windows looked great when Adam finished them. Adam stated that next year we could have him spray “Home Defense” around the windows and window frames, he lets the spray dry and then he cleans the windows. We will need to get a new “Guest Book” for the next open house. We are on the last page. June 13th 11AM at City Hall Meeting adjourned at 11:53am Minutes Submitted by Kim Hazel
