Meeting called to order at 11:21am. A. New Business Karen asked if we were interested in the having a table at the library. We will add to the August Agenda. Karen is going to check and see if we can sell books and cards while at the library. We should bring a plat map. Planning is checking into the documents that were found in the file cabinets that have been brought to the basement. Ashleigh took several pictures of the peeling paint on the building. We will add EHS Building Budget to August Agenda. She hopes to have some answers for us at that time. The pop-up open house is on the website. It will be on Wednesday, July 26th, 4-6pm. We should arrive around 3:45pm. B. Old Business 1. Lori is still working on PD documents. Next will be a big box of pictures. 2. No new updates on Laserfiche. Summer has kind of stopped the scanning project. C. Dakota County Historical Society Update 1. No July meeting. Joe is unable to attend the August meeting. Karen might be able to. D. Other 1. Lori stated Joanna would be willing to help the historical society as needed. Data entry, public speaking, or any other way she can. 2. The OPEN feather flag has arrived. The stand that was purchased was the wrong size for the pole that the flag came with. So we decided to send the stand back. We walked around and decided to have the Parks Dept. put the stake that came with the flag in the wood chips near the sign on Pilot Knob. That way the stake can just stay in the ground and we can put the flag out when we arrive. The area needs to be marked before the stake can go in the ground. 3. We had 4 visitors come to the Open House. We stayed and did some yard work and cleaning until 1pm. 4. Kim took the guest book home and made a copy of the last pages from the May open house and put those pages in the current Guest book. 5. Kim brought the long frames she painted brown to the OTH. 6. Kim watered the planters and finished spreading Preen down around the OTH wood chips and flower gardens. 7. Lori re-applied Home Defense for bugs around the foundation and under the window sills of the building. 8. The building had many spider webs inside it when we arrived. Everyone pitched in to clean it. Kim suggested we need a small shop vac to help with easier clean up. E. Next Historical Society Meeting: August 8, 2023 at the Old Town Hall with another pop-up Open House! F. Adjourn at 12:05.
