Hello Sarah,
To answer your questions below:
1. Fence- I traced over the diagram sent and attached a clearer proposal for the fence line in red
(please excuse the lack of professionalism there!).
a. The fence runs along the North, West, and Southwest corner of the property line.
b. There is a 4' door on the north side and the south side will remain open.
c. Let me know if there are any restrictions for how close we can be to the property line, if
not on it.
d. I am leaving the owner of the townhouse about 10' of our property,to his side of the
fence.
i. The property line is 10' from the side of his house and feels a bit close.
2. Trees—I was only going to replace the trees that died (pink,Yellow, and Green circles).
a. The dead trees that were removed were Ash and Spruce, I was going to replace with
Maple Blaze and Balsam Fir.
b. I can add a 3rd variety where the yellow trees were and can use birch.
i. Those were dead and gone before we bought the property in 2010.
c. There are a variety of trees on the property currently, let me know if this mix is
acceptable.
d. We will also replace the 12 arbor vitae along Rahn Cliff to screen the property.
2. Landscaping—The patio pavers are right off the back (west) of the building along with the
retaining wall.
Thanks again,
Chad Nyberg

vandalism over the past couple of years and were thinking this would help prevent it. In addition,
the added privacy will be nice when we have meetings and gatherings outside. I marked the
diagram you sent where we're wanting the fence. I apologize for the lack of clarity; my red pen
didn't scan. It starts out with a 4' door facing north which connects to the existing fence. It runs
southwest stopping well short of the property corner before taking a 90' turn left and heads
southeast, before ending in line with the corner of the parking lot (southwest). It will remain
open on that side (south). This also provides privacy and separation from the residential duplex
that we share that lot line with. It's pretty run down, and the yard isn't maintained.
3. Trees/Landscaping—The building is almost 30-years old and many of the original trees,
consisting of Spruce and Ash, died. I'm wanting to plant new trees in the same exact spots using
Spruce but replacing the Ash with Autumn Maple. Furthermore, I'm wanting to put in edging,
rocks, and shrubs on the northeast corner of the lot, just off of Rahn Rd and sharing a driveway
with the hotel. We had the lot surveyed, staked, and understand all of the required setbacks,
easements, etc. Finally, it includes a paver-patio (20x25) and 3' high retaining wall that runs 50'
on the backside (East) in front of where the fence will be. I hope all this makes sense!
Please let me know if I can answer any other questions, and/or if you need me to provide a more
formalized/professional plan.
Thank You,
Chad Nyberg
