It looks like the placement is okay as proposed, as it doesn’t appear would impede maintenance access or performance of stormwater infrastructure. After Eric left I somewhat unofficially became the interim Water Resource contact person for Sec. 11.65 Shoreland Overlay District review, but often confer with Jenna in final decisions. I’m okay with being the initial contact person for now however it may be best practice to copy the general Wateres@cityofeagan.com in case I’m out of the office. Docks come up only occasionally, but we wrote this memo in 2012 and I believe all of these ordinance references are still valid. This one is on LeMay Lake, it is a Shoreland Waterbody, and there is a d/u easement but no conservation easement along the shore here. The proposed dock meets the 5’ max width standard of Sec. 11.65, but far exceeds the 60 sf max per Sec. 10.24 Subd. 5. So we are unable approve this permit. They would have to reduce the overall size to max 60 sf. If they go down to 4 ft. wide, they can have a 15 ft. long dock. 2 Previously Eric Macbeth was the only one to sign off on any Zoning Permits for Water Resources. I’m copying Jenna on this so she can confirm that responsibility has been delegated that to you. In that case, you will become our contact for review of any other ZP’s that we get that need a review from Water Resources. Please see attached documents for a dock permit request. Note: I had submitted one last year, but didn't get around to installing it and learned more about the space I'll be adding it to so had to pivot from my original plan. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your time! Erin
