04/15/2024 - Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission1f \Oaf s/ EAGAN es.neusxeo iesa MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ADVISORY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION Monday, April 15, 2024 MINUTES OF MEETING ORAPRIL 15; 2D24 A regular meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) began at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Eagan City Hall. Commission Members present included Member Rotty, Member McWilliams, Member Klein, Member Demartelaere and Member Palmer. Member Costain, Member Hamlin, and Member Hassen were absent. Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Parks Superintendent Chris Fleck and Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Klein asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Assistant Director Flewellen stated there were none. Member Palmer moved, Member McWilliams seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda. Aye: 5 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Demartelaere moved to approve the minutes from February 26, 2024 workshop, Member Rotty seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes. Aye: 5 Nay: 0 No visitors to be heard at this time. VISITORS TO 13E HEARD PRESENTATION Eagan Community Center Division Lindsey Rague, Facilities Supervisor presented information from the City of Eagan Parks and Recreation Department— Eagan Community Center Division. Also joining Rague was ECC Coordinators and Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission April 15, 2024 Page 2 Specialists Erica Koller, Thani Peterrson, Seth Flolid and Michael Meffert sharing highlights from the different areas of the Eagan Community Center including the gyms, fitness center, The Blast, rooms rentals, Oaks rentals and Lone Oak 55+ Senior Center. OLD BUSINESS Recreation Facilities and Projects Update Parks Superintendent Chris Fleck presented the current status of the Recreational Facilities Plan in progress, as well as, the communication plan associated with them. The update included a recap of the last couple months recent activities regarding the projects as well as a forecasted timeline moving forward. The projects discussed were the shelter and parking at Goat Hill Park, the Eagan Art House reconstruction project, and the reinvestment project at ECC. No New Business at this time. NEW BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE Member McWilliams —Attended the Brick Convention and was also interested in the attendance for the facility capacity. Member Klein — Thank you to the City for hosting the volunteer dinner. Member Hamlin - Attended the Brick Convention at the Eagan Civic Arena and is interested in the attendance of the event. Member Demartelaere —Suggested for round table if there is a theme or an action for the next meeting. DEPARTMENT UPDATES Assistant Director Flewellen presented highlights from recent and upcoming activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department.
