Commission Members present included Member Rotty, Member Heimisdottir, Member Rayman, Member McWilliams, Member Costain, Member Klein and Member Hamlin. Member Palmer and Member Demartelaere were absent. Staff members present was Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental. APPROVAL OF,AGEND Member Klein asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated there was none. Member McWilliams moved, Member Costain seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Heimisdottir moved to approve the minutes from October 17, 2022 meeting, Member Rayman seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 VISITORS TO BE HEARD John Pass —Options for outdoor skating rink at Highview Park or nearby park. PRESENTATION Water Resources Division Eric MacBeth, outgoing Water Resources Manager and Jenna Olson Water Resources Manager presented information and highlights from the Water Resources Division. The Water Resources Division strives to protect and improve lakes and wetlands. A portion of those efforts are focused on managing watersheds, organizing Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission November 21, 2022 Page 2 water program milestones, managing lakes, tracking citywide results, conserving wetlands and preventing stormwater pollution. No old business at this time. No new business at this time. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE Member Heimisdottir— Attended Halloween Trail Walk and was impressed with the number of attendees. Member Klein —Attended Art Sale and was impressed by number of vendors. Also, promoted Holz Farm Old Fashioned Holiday. Member McWilliams —Appreciated the landscaping at South Oaks Park. Member Rayman — Kudos to staff for their continued efforts. Member Rotty— Requested to further discuss the outdoor rink request. Member Costain —Visited Rahn Park and Goat Hill Park and appreciated the use of the ice rink. Member Hamlin —Also attended Halloween Trail Walk and commented on improved messaging for entry. In addition to that, Rahn Park was looking for more communication of playground. DEPARTMENT UPDATES Director Pimental presented highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department. ADJOURNMENT After further brief discussion, Member Hamlin moved, Member Heimisdottir seconded with all members present voting in favor to adjourn the meeting.
