A Special City Council Meeting was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 5:30pm in the Eagan Room at the
Eagan Municipal Center. City Councilmembers present: Mayor Maguire, Councilmembers Bakken, Fields,
Hansen, and Supina. City staff present: City Administrator Miller and Public Works Director Matthys.
I.ROLL CALL AND ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Councilmember Bakken moved, Councilmember Supina seconded a motion to adopt the agenda. Aye: 5,
Nay: 0. Motion carried.
II.VISITORS TO BE HEARD
There were no visitors to be heard.
III.WINTER TRAIL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Director Matthys shared a map of trails currently maintained, and discussed the new routes staff are
proposing to add to the maintenance list. City staff is proposing to begin maintaining an additional 2.12
miles of new construction trail segments (4 in total), and 2.56 miles of existing trail segments in
recognition of additional connectivity needs. The Council expressed support for the staff
recommendations.
IV.PUBLIC WORKS 5-YEAR CIP (2025-2029)
Director Matthys provided an overview of the 5-year Capital Improvements Plan, which includes $158.2
million in public improvements. Of the total cost, $82.8 million will be covered by City funds. The
remaining amounts are covered by non-City and regional sources. Staff would seek to bring the CIP back
for Council action on the June 4 Consent Agenda. The Council thanked staff for their work on the CIP.

There was no other business.
VI.ADJOURNMENT
Councilmember Hansen moved, Councilmember Bakken seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
