This new and exciting opportunity was enticing to the ETV team so on New Year’s Day,
Community Producer Josh Sibley led a crew of 6 ETV staff members to livestream the game on
Big 10 Plus and broadcast locally on cable TV from Hasse Arena in Lakeville.
The production included interviews with numerous high-profile guests such as Hall of Famer
and former Minnesota North Star player Mike Modano, member of the famed Miracle on Ice
team and Gopher National Championship team Buzz Schneider, former Gopher All-American
and Gold and Silver medalist Dani Brodzinski (Cameranesi), and WCHA Commissioner Michelle
McAteer.
After the game, Event Coordinator Doug Johnson had this to say about the production, “Nothing
but positive reviews on the broadcast quality and professionalism, and the stream!”
This achievement shows the growing demand for ETV’s excellent production services,
highlighting their ability to deliver outstanding content not only to the local Eagan community but
to a wider regional and national audience as well.
Milestones Early Learning Center
A new daycare and early learning center will be occupying the former Minnesota Autism Center
(MAC) building located at 2100 Silver Bell Road. The daycare will be Milestones’ fourth Twin
Cities location (Lino Lakes, Maple Grove, Lake Elmo), purchasing the property from MAC after
MAC recently vacated the building. City Council approved a rezone to PD, Planned
Development in 2017 allowing for expansion of the MAC campus with a 19,500 square foot
“skills development facility”. Staff determined the daycare and learning center to be similar to
and consistent with the approved Planned Development. The PILOT agreement tied to the
property terminates with the return of ad valorem taxation as the new owner is not a registered
non-profit organization. The new owner recently submitted a building permit for remodeling work
within the building. Staff do not yet know the anticipated opening date.
Proposed Change to Check Registers
In light of recent cyber security attacks at the local city level and an effort to reduce fraud risks
while protecting sensitive financial information from the wrong use, staff is proposing the
removal of detail check registers that include vendor and payment information with the City
Council agendas beginning in February of 2025. Instead, the City Council will continue to see
and take action on a summary of checks by fund that is currently included (the last page) in the
check register report. The detail check registers will be available on request through the City
Clerk’s office to the public and will be distributed to the City Council for review in the Cross-
section prior to the City Council meeting where action will be requested.
If the City Council has questions or comments, please reach out to Finance Director Feldman or
City Administrator Miller. If time permits, Dianne will check in with the council on this matter at
the January 21 Listening Session.
