Press Release Update:
On 8/30/93 at approximately 1023 hours, the Eagan Police Dept
responded to a fatal motor-vehicle accident at the intersection of
Pilot Knob and Cliff Roads located in the City of Eagan.. The
accident involved two motor vehicles and a dump-truck pulling a
flatbed trailer.
One of the motor vehicles was an unmarked Eagan Police squad. The
driver of the squad was Investigator Louis (Lou) Jeska, age 52
years, who was on-duty at the time of the accident. Investigator
Jeska was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was an
Eagan resident and a 20 year employee of the City of Eagan Police
Department, the last 8 years as an Investigator. He is survived by
his wife Sandy, daughter Lori, sons Brad and Brian, and
grandchildren.
The male truck driver, identified as 'timothy Mcnearney, age 29, of
Lakeville, was taken by ambulance to Fairview Ridges. Timothy was
treated and released from Fairview Ridges.
The male driver of the second motor vehicle, identified as Jefry
Curfman, age 34, of Fargo N.D. , ' and his four-year-old son, Joshua,
were taken by ambulance to St. Paul Ramsey. The driver's wife,
Tammy, age 30, was air-lifted by helicopter to St. haul Ramsey.
Jefry and his 4 year-old son were treated and released from St.
Paul Ramsey. Tammy Curfman is in serious condition and will be
admitted to the hospital.
The Minnesota State Patrol is responsible for the accident
investigation and reconstruction.

Funeral Arrangements:
Funeral arrangements for Lou Jeska will be handled by Klecatsky and
Sons Funeral Home, 1580 Century Point, in Eagan. Reviewal will be
Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 4 : 00 to 8: 00 pm at Klecatsky and Sons
Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 2, at 10:30 am,
at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Road, Eagan. Internment
will follow the funeral services at Acacia Park Cemetery.
