Authorization To Execute Agreement With The Cities Of Eagan And Inver Wove Heights For Revocation Of
County Road Status For A Segment Of County Road 63
WHEREAS, this segment of roadway is designated as a jurisdictional transfer in the Dakota County 2025
Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, entering into a revocation agreement with the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights is necessary to
formally transfer jurisdiction and maintenance of approximately 1.3 miles of County Road (CR) 63 from Trunk
Highway (TH) 149 to the new CR 28 intersection-, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 04-76 (February 17, 2004) authorized the Physical Development Director to enter into
an agreement with the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights for the purpose of revoking county road status for
segments of CR 63 upon execution of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the remaining improvements to facilitate the transfer of CR 63 are agreed upon by staff from all
agencies:
Mill and overlay County Road (CR) 63 from approximately 800 feet north of Trunk Highway (TH) 149 to the
south connection of Alberta Way to meet County standards
Assess and improve existing culverts on that segment of CR 63 to meet County standards, and
WHEREAS, upon the date of revocation, the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights will assume total
responsibility for all maintenance, repair, reconstruction, traffic control devices, and such other matters concerning
the described road segment, which are implied by ownership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commission'ers hereby authorizes the
Physical Development Director to execute an agreement with the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights for the
purpose of revoking county road status for segments of CR 63 upon execution of agreement, subject to approval by
the County Attorney's Office as to form; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby revokes county road status
for segments of CR 63 in the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights as follows:

County Road 63 beginning at a point on the established center line of -County Road 63 and on the
northeasterly right of way of TH 149 in Section 13, Township 27N, Range 23W in the City of Eagan,
and Section 18, Township 27N, Range 22W in the City of Inver Grove Heights, and running
northerly and northeasterly along the established center line of County Road 63 and terminating in
Section 7, Township 27N, Range 22W in the City of Inver Grove Heights approximately 1.3 miles
north of TH 149 to the new bounty Road 28 intersection

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That the County Board Chair and the Clerk to the County Board are hereby
authorized to execute the Quit Claim Deed with the Cities of Eagan and Inver Grove Heights, in a form approved by
the County Attorney's office, releasing the County's interest in the right of way for the above described segment of
road in Eagan and Inver Grqve Heights; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLA-:0, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby rescinds Resolution No.
04-76 (February{ 17, 2004).
