We generally don't approve banners as permanent signage because of their tendency to tear and
fade. However, we allow realtors to display "For Lease" banners for longer than two weeks under
the condition that once the vacancy advertised on the banner is filled, the banner permit would
expire and the banner would need to come down. Given this is a banner that reads "Now Hiring",
the situation is different in that you may never be fully staffed.
I would be comfortable approving the banner for up to one year from the date that we received the
application. Between now and 2024, we would continue to assess whether the banner remains in
good condition, and you may have to replace anchors and rope as needed to maintain it. If the
banner is not being maintained, the permit would expire and we would contact you to take it down.

In addition to your application, I would need a brief written statement detailing how the banner will
be secured to the building including the number and the type of fasteners or other hardware used.
We would also need to know how long you intend to display the banner before it will be taken
down.
