04/30/1976 - Eagan Historical Society MINUTES BICENTENNIAL TREE DEDICATION April 30, 1976 On Arbor Day, April 30, 1976 a tree planting ceremony and dedication was held at the Eagan City Hall, 3795 Pilot Knob Road. Mayor Herbert Polzin, Councilman Ted Wachter and Clerk Alyce Bolke were present together with members of the Dakota Ramblers South 4-H Club. A sugar maple and a norway maple were planted by the 4-H club members. The mayor dedicated the sugar maple as the "City of Eagan American Revolution Bicentennial Tree." This will be registered with the Minnesota State Horticultural Society so that in some future time it can be considered for Heritage Tree Certification. Members of the Dakota Ramblers South 4-H Club who assisted with this project were, Richard Rodich, John Buehler, Rachel . Thorpe, Colin Thorpe, • Bambi Wessel, Katie Deer and Brad Stricker. These two trees will be a 1'ving monument of this Minnesota Bicentennial Arbor Day. April 30, 1976 //Clerk
