MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
EAGAN CITY COUNCIL
January 13, 1987
A special meeting of the Eagan City Council was held on Tuesday,
January 13, 1987 at 6:30 p.m., at the Eagan Municipal Center. Present were
Mayor Blomquist and City Council members Egan, Ellison, Smith and Wachter.
Also present was City Administrator Hedges.
INTERVIEWS/ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER POSITION
Director of Public Works Colbert and City Administrator Hedges
introduced Mr. Mike Foertsch, stating that Mr. Foertsch is a finalist and has
been recommended for the position. Mr. Foertsch discussed his background and
reasons for seeking the position and after several questions and an interview
by the members of the City Council, Mr. Colbert and Mr. Foertsch were excused
from the meeting. In a motion by City Council member Egan, seconded by City
Council member Smith, with all members voting aye, Mr. Mike Foertsch was hired
to fill the Assistant City Engineer position vacancy according to the approved
salary compensation schedule set forth by the City and further, that his first
day of employment would be February 2, 1987.
COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE INTERVIEWS
Approximately twenty (20) residents seeking an appointment on a
volunteer committee or commission of the City were given a ten (10) minute
interview throughout the evening. Following all the interviews with both
residents and the incumbants of certain commissions/committees seeking a
reappointment, the City Council briefly discussed the list of volunteer
candidates. It was determined that the final discussion and selection would
be made at the organizational meeting on January 20. There was no formal
action taken.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 11:00 p.m.
