02/21/1961 - City Council Regular 154 MINUTES O]!\ A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS I EAGAN TOWNSHIP A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors was held on February 21st, 1961 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. at the McKee Hall at which all members were present. Chairman Rahn opened the meeting. The Minutes of the preceding meeting were read and unanimously approved. Mr. Harry Brooks and Mr. Jean Parranto oJ. Parranto Bros. Realty representing Standard Oil Company with regard to application of Charles Rueger for the issuance of a building permit for a Standard Oil Service Station to be situated at the Southwest Corner of the intersection of Highway #13 and Cedar Avenue South, presented detailed plans and specifica- tions for the construction thereof, said application being made under the Hardship Clause, Ordinance No. VI, Section 5, because of the lad being zoned presently as I-l, Light Industrial. Upon recommendation for the issuance of said building permit by the Advisory Planning Committee, and after careful consideration by the Board of Supervisors, and upon the repre- sentations of Mr. Brooks and Mr. Parranto and the plans and specifications that the estimated above-ground improvements would cost approximately $55,000 and that the sewer system therefore would hook into the Cedar-Grove sewage system, upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Supervisor Trapp, it was RC;SOLVED that a building permit be, and the same hereby is, issued to applicant under Ordinance No.Vl, Section 5, for the construction of a service station on a one-acre parcel of ground situated in the South-West corner of the intersection of Highway #13 and Cedar Avenue South per the accurate legal description attached to the plot plan, and these Hinutes as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof. 155 Application by Charles Rueger and Eugene Slater for the re-zoning of that parcel of land bounded by new Highway 13, and old Highway 13 (Beau de Rue Road) and Cedar Avenue South from C-l, Light Commercial to C-2, Heavy Commercial. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was ~SOLVED that a hearing be had on the proposed re-zoning on March 7~, 1961 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at the Town Hall and that notice thereof be given ~suant to Ordinance No. VI. Mr. W. E. White appeared in application for a building permit to move a 1948 model home onto property situated in Section 18-27-23 in the area commonly known as Kennealy's Addition persuant to the Hardship Clause, Ordinance No. VI, Section 5. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Hahn, it was RESOLVED that a building permit be, and the same hereby is, issued to Mr. White for the moving of said home upon the above described property according to the plot plans submitted and hereto attached as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof. The Town Engineer submitted a written report on the proposed street improvements in Valley View Addition. Upon lIlotion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED that the son of the deceased Ira Nelson, namely, David Nelson, 2850 Highview Terrace, be notified to appear before the Board of Supervisors on March 7~, 1961 to determine his intentions as to the improvements con- templated. It was further RESOLVED that the town attorney forward to Mr. Nelson such notice along with a copy of the Engineer's report and request that Mr. Nelson obtain current estimates on such improvements prior to the meeting on March 7~. It appearing that no publication was had according to law of the amendment to the Gravel Pit Ordinance, No. VIII, upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the amendment as proposed and previously adopted by the Board of Supervisors be, 156 and the same hereby is, re-adopted and approved and the town attorney is reinstructed to cause publication according to law. The Town Engineer reported that he had studied the Robert Oslund plat of a part of Section 9-27-23 and had made recommendations to the Mr. Oslund who had agreed to revise said plat and resubmit same at some future date to the Advisory Planning Committee.
