MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
October 18~, 1960
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Township,
was held on October 18~, 1960 at 8:00 p.m. in the Town Hall at which
all members were present except Supervisor Trapp.
The minutes of the preceding meeting were approved as read.
Mr. Gallagher and one other resident appeared in regard to the
McCarthy Road repairs. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz
and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED to install one culvert
at an appropriate place on McCarthy Road and to grade and gravel a
portion thereof being between the State Highway right-of-way on the
east side of Highway #13 east to Mr. Gallagher's private road, being
a distance of approximately 217 feet and at approximate right intervals
from the west end of said McCarthy Road approximately 80 feet to the
north, the work to be done as soon as possible.
Mr. Dale Pihlstrom appeared on behalf of Cedar Grove Utilities
Company in application to construct a water main along Rahn Road from
a point about 500 feet north of Zircon Lane a distance of 2,335 feet
north to the site of the new American Luthern Church; and further for
permission to install sanitary sewers and storm sewer along Diamond
Lane from Marble to Quartz Lane. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn
and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that Cedar Grove
Utilities be, and hereby is, permitted to lay a water main along Rahn
Road in the area above described upon the expressed condition that the
Road be returned to its present condition immedic~tely after construction
is completed; and further RESOLVED that Cedar Grove Utilities Company be

permitted to install storm sewer and sanitary sewer along Diamond
Lane from Marble Lane to Quartz Lane upon the same condition as to
the road being returned to its present condition; Provided that such
work shall be done according to the plans and specifications as pre-
sented and shall be included in the final plans and specifications
for the over-all water and se~Ter systems to be installed in Cedar
Grove Additions #3 and 4, all of which shall be subject to the
approval of the Advisory Planning Committee and the Board of Super-
visors upon such over-all presentation.
A group of residents from Valley View Plateau appeared regarding
the condition of roads and streets in the area. The group was advised
that the Township had no responsibility for the repair or upkeep of
the roads therein because they had not been dedicated by Mr. Ira
Nelson, the owner thereof, and accepted by the Board of Supervisors
as to construction. Mr. Ira Nelson appeared also and admitted that
at the time he had sold Lots to the residents therein he had agreed
to black top the roads which was the condition upon which the Board
of Supervisors had previously advised Mr. Nelson at the time his
plat for Valley View Plateau was presented such roads would be
assumed by the Township.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED that Comstock
& Davis, Engineers, be advised that their employment as such has been
terminated and a request be made for a final bill from them.
Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by
Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the firm of Bonestroo & Associates,

Engineers, be and hereby are, employed as the Town Engineers at the
pleasure of the Board of Supervisors.
Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor
Schwanz, it was ~SOLVED that the Township Attorney be, and hereby is,
authorized to purchase a drawing file for plats and maps submitted
in connection with applications and an index filing system therefore.
The Board requested the Town Attorney to submit caries of the
Advisory Planning Committee Meeting Minutes to all members of the
Board in advance of the Board's meeting next following each Committee
meeting.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
