MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS I EAGAN TOWNSHIP
Ma,y 16-. 1961
A regular meeting of the Board of Superviears, Eagan Township
vas held onMq 1611, 1961, at 8:00 o' clock P.M. at which all members
vere present except Supervisor Trapp.
The minutes of the preceding meeting were approved as read.
The following building permits vere approved and issued:

Mr. Jean E. Parranto appeared in behalf of the application of Cedar
Grove Land Company and Skell1' Coaapany for a special use permit to con-
struct a service station on the Southeast corner of County Road No. 7
and Cedar Aftnue. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and secon-
ded by Supervisor Schwanz, it vae RESOLVED that a special use per-
llit aDd lNil.di.Dg pel'lli t be, and the same hereby are granted to the
applicant subject, hovever, to the following: final approval by the
Town :Engineer as to site drainage, and vater and sever layout and
connections; and to site distances and setback approval by the Dakota

County Engineer.
Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded b.1
Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the official Eagan Township zon-
ing map be reformed to include "Public Facilities" district as to
the following described property, to-wit: Lot Twelve (12), Thirteen
(13), Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), Sixteen (16), Seventeen (17),
Eighteen (1.8). and Nineteen {19>, Block Two (2), Cedar Grove No.1,
according to the plat thereof now on file and of record in the
Office of the Register of Deeds wi. thin and for Dakota County, State
of Minnesota; and it was further RESOLVED that said zoning map be
reformed to evidence that the following described lands are zoned
C-2, Heavy Commercial, to-wit: the North 150 feet of the West 150
feet of Lot 19, Block 8, Cedar Grove No.2, being the above site lo-
cation of the Skelly Oil Company service station.
Mr. Stewart Barringer appeared on behalf of his application
for a bUilding permit under the Hardship Clause, Ordinance No. VI,
to construct a private one family dwelling on a one acre parcel
situated in the South 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 13-27-23.
Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor
Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that said application be, and the same
hereby is, denied in accordance with the recolIIDendation of the
Advisory Planning Committee.
Mr. Robert Oslund presented a final hardshell plat for final
approval of Timberlane Addition. Upon motion duly made by Chairman
Hahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that said

plat be, and the same hereby is, finally approved, subject however,
to the execution by the applicant of a street improvement agreement
setting forth certain requirements for the construction and paving
of the street in said plat before acceptance thereof b.1 the Town-
ship; and further subject to the filing of an appropriate resolution
by the Board of Supervisors based upon said agreement with the Reg-
ister of Deeds, Dakota County; and further subject to the holding
of said plat by the Town Engineer until the execution of said agree-
ment by the applicant.
Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by
Chairman RaM, it was RESOLVED that the base map of Eagan Township
as prepared and submitted by the Town Engineer be, and the same here-
by is designated as the official base map for Eagan Township; it was
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be, and he hereby is, approved
to purchase an appropriate number of small and large photo copies of
said base map for distribution of officers to the township and sale
to interested parties.
Mr. Joseph Harkness, Attorney. representing the West End fish-
ing and Hunting Club, Inc. t appeared on behalf of its application
for a special use permit to operate a private Gun Club on part of
Section 36-27-23, owned by Earl Marotzke, and for the issuance of
a beer and soft drink license to be used in connection with said
club. It was reported that the Advisory Pl~nnitlg Committee had
appointed a special committee to examine the property in question
and investigate the locale for such a use, which committee had not

yet rendered its report to the planning committee for a recommenda-
tion to the Board of Supervisors. Chairman Ra1m directed the Clerk
to put the matter on the June 6th Agenda for final action by the
Board of Supervisors provided that a recorrmendation was obtained
prior thereto from the Advisory PlAnning Committee.
The Town Attomey presented the Dog Catching Agreement execu-
ted by Marvin Beise et al, of Beise Kennels. The original thereof
was filed with the Clerk and an executed copy thereof was directed
to be sent to Mr. Beise.
The petition of Louis J. Schlueter for variance under the hard-
ship clause, Ordinance No. VI as to a 4 foot setback from the side
yard lot line of 20,56 Emerald Lane, Cedar Grove, was presented. Upon
motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded b.1 Supervisor Schwanz,
it was RESOLVED to grant variance to applicant under the hardship
clause, Ordinance No. VI as to said 4 foot setback.
Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Super-
visor Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that the town attorney advise Cedar
Grove Construction Company in writing that ~o more petititions from
Cedar Grove for variances would be given favorable treatment follow-
ing constructions.
Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by
Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that Al Kamish be hired to do road
work in filling the roadside on the LaBanen Township line.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED that the
Board of Review of Eagan Township meet on July 5th, 1961 at the

Town Hall at 9:00 o' clock A.M. to perform their statutory duties.
All bills were approved 8Ild paid as presented. Upon motion,
the meeting adjourned.
