MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS. EAGAN TOWNSHIP
September 18th. 1962

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagnn Township,
was held on September 18th, 1962 at 8:00 0' clock P.M. at the Town Hall
at which all membe~s were present.
Chairman Rahn presided. The minutes of the preceding meeting were
unanimously approved as read.
The following applications for building permits were presented:

Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Trapp and seconded by Chairman
Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the foregoing building permit applications be,
and the same hereby are, approved, and the Clerk directed to forthwith
issue building permits to applicants.
The application of Arthur M. Bowen for a building permit on High-
way No. 49 was presented for a commercial building. Upon motion duly
made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RE-
SOLVED that the building permit be, and the same hereby is, approved
and issued to applicant subject to the presentation of plans and speci-
fications for such structure and a drainage site plan being presented
to the Town Engineer and Town Board for approval.
The request of the Minnesota Municipal Commission for cooperation
by Eagan Township in conducting an activities survey of the residents of
the township was presented. Chairman Rahn tabled the matter until the
Minnesota Municipal Commission gives further information as to what
specifically they desire the township to do in the survey and what the
approximate costs thereof would be to the township.
The application of William O'Niell, Blue Gentian Road end Highway
No. 49, for preliminary plat approval was presented. Chairman Rahn
tabled the matter until the next meeting subject to obtaining a reply
from the Minnesota Highway Department as to their intentions on this
property.
The recommendation of the Advisory Planning Committee that an offi-
cial township base map and the rezoning map be brought up to date twice
per year by the Town Engineer was presented. Upon motion duly made by
Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that
the official township base map and the rezoning map be brought up to
date twice each year by the Town Engineer.
The Town Engineer reported concerning the compliance of the J. W.
Craig Company with the provisions of its agreement with the township for
operation of a gravel pit on the Hugo Goers property. Upon motion duly
made by Supervisor Trapp and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RE-
SOLVED that the bond filed pursuant to applicable ordinances and the
agreement be released subject to assumption of pit obligations by Alex-
ander Construction Co. under applicable ordinances and their agreement
with the township for operation of gravel pits on the same property.
The consideration of the Minnesota Department of Health findings
concerning water tests atthe Arnald Nordahl residence was stricken for
lack of report in this respect.

The application of HaJ~)Kirchner for final plat approval of
"Kirchner Plaza:\ situated in the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quar-
ter (SW* OF SW*> , Section 23-27-23 was presented. Upon motion duly
made by Supervisor Trapp and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED
that said plat of Kirchner Plaza be, and the same hereby is, finally
approved.
County Commissioner Louis Wachter appeared before the Board and
represented that there was a possibility the County Commissioners might
take over Yankee Doodle and Cliff Road subject to the abutting property
owners granting to the county appropriate additional easements so as to
give the county an easement for highway purposes of 100 feet. Upon roo-
tion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Supervisor Trapp,
it was RESOLVED that the Board approve the turning over of said roads to
Dakota County provided that the abutting property owners grant approprl-
ate easements therefore. It was informally suggested that perhaps the
Civic Association might undertake the job of getting the consent to
obtain easements from the abutting property owners.
Upon motion, all bills sumitted were orde~1o be paid.
