05/04/1965 - City Council Regular MINUTES OF REGULl~1 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS EI.GAN TOWNSHIP. DAKOTA COUNTY. MINNESCTA May 4. 1965 j~ regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Township, Dakota County, was held on May 4, 1965 at 7:00 o.clock P. M. at the Town Hall at which all members were present. Chairman hahn presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was unanimously waived. ht 7:00 o'clock P. M. Chail~n Rahn ordered the bids for the fire truck opened, at 7:30 the bids for the road grader opened, and at 8:00 the bids for the town police patrol car opened. The Town Engineer was directed tc ~~bulate all of the various bids for said equipment, copy of which was ordered sp~eod upon the minutes of this meeting as Exhibit 111..:1 and made a part thereof. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded by Chairman hahn, it was rESOLVED that the following bids for the following equipment be. and they hereby a~e. approved and awarded: Eauipmen~ Bidder Amount of Bid Fire Truck - Chassis: Farmington Ford, Farmington, Minn $ 5,743.50 Equipment: Gen'l. Safety Equip. Corp., No. Branch It r. Base Bid: Less equip.as designated $13,218.00 961. 50 Awarded: $12,256.50 Total $18,000.00 p ~. - l ._~ The following building pelLnit applications were presented: 1. Lawrence Kolofsky, 912 Lawrence Avenue, Lot 4, Block 2, Kolofsky Addition. Application for pel~it to construct foundation upon which his old house would be moved. Estimated cost $1,200 and $2,800 for moving and remodeling. - I - 2. Jim Mickrut, application for quonset stcrage building. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the ~_lilding permit application of Mr. Kolofsky be, and the same hereby is, approved; and it was FURTHER RESOLVED that the application of Mr. Mickrut be :eferred to the hdvisory Planning Committee and the applicant advised to submit to the Committee pictures of the proposed structure, plot plan and the consent of the surrounding prope~ty owners. The final draft of the proposed Valley View Wate~~o~ks Company Franchise bgreement was submitted to the Board and officers of the Waterworks Company. Upon motion duly made by Chai~1mOn Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Klein, it was ~~SOLVED that the ag~eement as presented be, and the same hereby is, duly approved and the Chai~1mOn and Clerk directed to enter into the agreement with the appropriate officers of the Waterworks Company. Chairman Rahn directed the President of the Valley View Waterworks Company to appear at the May 18, 1965 Board meeting in connection with approval of the proposed water rates. The Town Engineer discussed briefly the Post hddition road situation and advised the Board that a feasibility study would be fo~~lly presented at the next meeting of the Boald on May 18, 1965. No formal action was taken. The Town Engineer next discussed the feasibility of odorizers on the natural gas outlets in the community. Chai~~n dahn directed t!~ Town Engineer to contact the Northern Natural Gas Company concerning the advisability and feasibility of installing odorizers in connection with residential and commercial gas hook-ups. The Town Engineer then discussed briefly the Z~hn Road situation. Chai~~n Rahn directed the Town Engineer to prepare a written report - 2 - for the Bonrd including the estimated cost of ra-grading, graveling and subsequent bituminous surfacing of the Rahn hood from its intersection with County Rond 80 North to oFproximately the Church and Fire Hall property. A proposal for renewal of the Mendota Heights Fire contract was submitted. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was nES8LVED that the Mendota Heights Fire contract be, and the same hereby is, ~enewed for an additional year subject to the approval of the Mendota Heights Village Council. The following beer applications were submitted: 1, Mr. Don Van Engen on behalf of the Eagan Volunteer Fire Department, 3940 Rahn Road. 2. Raymond Murphy, Supper Club at 2600 Sibley Highway. 3. Gordon P. Christopherson, Lost Spur ~anch Club, 2750 Sibley Highway. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RBSOLVED that the foregoing beer permi t applications be, and the same hereby are, approved. Town Constable LeTendre presented a proposed list of police patrol car equipment required for effective police protection and operation including siren, lights, gun, etc. Upon motion duly made by Chairman I(ahn and seconded by Supervisor Klein, it was nESOLVED that the Towns!;!.ip purchase said equipment for the sum of $563.08. Upon motion duly mode by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was .~ESOLVED that the Board of Equalization meet on Jw"'e 7.9, 1965 between the hours of 1:00 and 4:30 P. M. to carry out its duties according to law. - 3 - Upon motion of Supervisor Klein and seconded by. Supervisor Schwanz, it was ~ESOLVED that the Township purchase 0 Boord table for the platform in the Town Hall at a total cost of not to exceed $225. Upon motiont the meeting adjourned.
