12/07/1965 - City Council Regular MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF TBE BOAlill OF SUl'ERVlSORS EAGAN TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY.. MINNESOTA DE~~mER 7, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Township, was held on December 7, 1965, at 8:00 P. M. at the Town Hall at which all members were present. Chairman Rahn presided. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read with the following additions: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was RESOLVED that the appllr.ation of Herbert Braun for an abatement to $3,824.00 b~and it hereby Is, approved. Upon motion by Chairman Rahn, seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that Marvin Wenzel be, and he hereby is, directed to install a new door and to remodel the interior of the old town hall for pur.poses of storing equipment. A request was presented on behalf of Cedar Grove Construction Company for construction of two entry posts to be located at the corner of Cedar Avenue and CQrnelian Lane in Cedar Crest. After discussion the Board requested that the Town Engineer together with the Board members inspect the premises where the posts are intended to be located prior to final approval of the request. Hr. James Horn appeared on behalf of bis request for Township acceptance of Kingswood Drive and Coronation Road in Kingswood Addition. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors be, and it hereby is, on record aecepting the following streets in Kingswood Addition: The first 230 feet of Klngswood Drive from its intersection with Pilot Knob Road ~~i~~ift! the driveway into Lot 11, Block 1, Kingswood Addition. Coronation Road and cul-de-sac contingent, however, upon developer widening Coxonation Road to a width of 30 feet and widening Kingswood Drive to a width of 32 feet. - 1 - The application of Fisher ConstrucUon Company Inc:" of Rosemount, Minnesota for the operation of a gravel pit on prcpe~ty owned by Gopher Smelting Company near Highway #49 and Yankee Doodle Road was next presented. Mr. Fisher appeared on behalf of the application. Upon motion by Supervisor Klein, seconded by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED that said application be-forwarded to the Advisory Planning Comnittee at its next regular me::!t- ing, that the Engineer check the location and further that the owner, Gopher Smelting Company present a weitten proposal as to the operation of the pit and that the owner and operator agree to leveling the area according to the Eagan Ordinance at the completion of the excavation. The Town Attorney presented a proposed joint sewage a8reem~nt vli th Bloomington and Burnsville for approval and execution by the Board. Upon motion by Chairman Rahn, seconded by Supervisor Klein, it was RESOLVED that said joint sewage agreement between Bloomington, Burn4ville and Eagan for a preliminary se<J1age study be, and it hereby is, approved and that the applicable officers be authroized to execute the agreement. After discussion and upon motion by Slpervisor Klein, seconded by Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that the Town Attorney be, and he hereby is, authorized to take whatever legal action is necessary and appropriate in regard to an appeal of the standards covering the Minnesota River adopted by the Water Pollution Control Commission. The Town Engineer presented a letter concerning his inspection of the Gopher Smelting operation which took place on December 3, 196~. Th~ Board requested the Town Engineer get in touch with Dr. Rauschka anj the t~heelabrator Company concerning the Gopher Smelting operation includa~t a proposed new type of recording device recommended by Wheelabrator Company. .. 2 .. Upon motion by Supervisor Klein, seconded by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED that the Town Engineer request that the County Engineer forward copies of all plans for proposed new county highway construction in the Town of Eagan to the Board of Supervisors prior to commencement of any future road construction. The Town Engineer presented a Change Order No. 1 establishing a u: it price for pit run gravel for Rahn Road at $1.02 per ton. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein,seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that said change order be, and it hereby is, approved as presented. Upon motion all bills were paid.
