MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEEnNG OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
EAGAN TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
August 2, 1966
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Eagan Township was
held on August 2, 1966 at 8:00 o'clock P. M. at the town hall at which all
members were present. Chairman Rabn presided. The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as. read.
The rollowing request for buil.ing permits were presented: Mr. Elis
Weathers, a house trailer on the Edmund Schwanz property on Yankee Doodle
Road near Highway 149 and Mr. Laurence Oldenburg, a house trailer on old
Dodd Road north of County Road 130. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn,
seconded by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED 'tibet said permits be, and they
hereby are, granted, subject however, to compliance with tbe proposed Trailer
Ordinance 1/19.
Mr. James Sneberger, Mr. Saul Smylie and Mr. Albert Eilers appeared on
behalf of tbe application of Specter Freight Systems, Inc., 205 West Wacker
D~ive, Chicago, Illinois, for a building permit for a commercial building on
Highway 1'49. It was noted tbat the application had been deferred from the
July 19th Board meeting. After discussion and upon motion by Supervisor
Schwanz, seconded by Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that said building permit
application be, and it bereby is, approved, subject however, to the submission
to and approval of tbe final bUilding plans by the town engineer.
The consideration of an additional member to the Sewer Assessment
Committee was tabled until the August 16, 1966, meeting.
'!'he Town Attorney presented amendments to Ordinances #1, #2, #5, #6,
#10 and f~14 and, in addition, proposed Ordinance 119 - Trailers. Upon
motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz, seconded by Supervisor Klein it was
RESOLVED that the foregoing Ordinances and Ordinance Amendments be, and
they bereby are, approved and publication by tbe town clerk be directed.

Upon motion by Cbairman Rabn, seconded by Supervisor Klein it was
RESOLVED tbat the Board of Supervisors of Eagan Townsbip be, and tbey hereby
are, on record recommending to the Minnesota Highway Department that Highway
#13 in Eagan Township be up-graded to a 9 Ton roadway and that a copy of the
resolution of the Board of Supervisors be forwarded to the Minnesota Highway
Department.
The application of NOF Development Corporation for a Super-America
Service Station building permit at Highway #13 and Highway 130 was tabled
for lack of appearance.
Mr. Fred Eicbinger appeared on bebalf of the application of Northwestern
Bell Telephone Company for an addition to its building at County Road #10
and Lexington Avenue. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein, seconded
by Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that said 36' x 78' addition be, and it
hereby is, approved subject to approval of the plans by the town engineer.
Police Chief Hartin DesLauriers presented two proposed candidates for
Eagan Township policemen, namely Kenneth Aszmann, 3306 Pilot Knob Road and
Peter Poppler, 1310 Lone Oak Road. Upon motion by Supervisor Klein, seconded
by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED that Mr. Aszmann and Mr. Poppler be,
and they bereby are, appointed part time policemen for Eagan Township on a
six month trial basis as recommended by Chief DesLauriers effective
immediately with compensation at $2.50 per hour.
The town engineer was instructed to write a letter to the Minnesota
Highway Department requesting that right and left turn lanes at Blackhawk
Road and Valley Drive on Highway #13 be installed by the Highway Department.
The Board discussed rate charges for occupants in Cedar Grove #5 for
sewer service during the period until the town sewer disposal system is
placed in effect. The engineer was instructed to contact Mr. Jandric
concerning the matter.

Upon motion by Chairman Rahn, seconded by Supervisor Klein it was
RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors be, and it hereby is, on record
recommending to the County Attorney that an appropriate investigation leading
toward the bringing of certain statutory and ordinance violations against
Mr. Hjalmar H. Clarkson on Highway 149 be commenced.
Upon motion all bills were ordered paid.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
