08/16/1966 - City Council Regular MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF EAGAN TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COtlNTY, MI!\"NESOTA August 16, 1966 A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Eagan Township was held on August 16, 1966, at 8:00 P. M. at the Town Hall at which all members were present. Chairman Rahn presided. The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as read. Mr. William Bruestle applied for a building permit to construct a single family dwelling at an estimated cost of $20,000.00 on property adjacent to the town hall along Highway #31. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED to grant the building permit subject to appropriate street access from the lot in question to County Road 131 including the granting by the applicant of a 75' easement along said County Road #31 as indicated on exhibit plat attached to application. The town engineer and town attorney were directed to prepare an appropriate legal description and an easement deed to be executed by applicant. Representatives of MOl Development Company appeared on behalf of their application for a building permit for a Superamerica Service Station at the interSection of Highway #13 and County Road 130. It was noted that the Advisor> Planning Committee recommended approval. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Ralm it was RESOLVED that the application for building permit be, and the same hereby is, granted and the permit to be issued. Representatives of Beim Construction Company appeared on behalf of their application to erect a Northwestern Bell Telephone Company garage building on part of Lot 3, Robert O'Neill Homestead. It was noted that the Advisory Planning Committee recommended approval. Upon motion duly mad~ by Chairman - 1 - Rahn, seconded by Supervisor Schwanz it was RESOLVED that the application for building permit be, and the same hereby is, approved and the permit to be issued. Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Klein, Donald Knight, 1455 Higbriew Drive, was duly appointed as the lay member of the asseSmDent committee for a te~ of one year commencing the first day of September, 1966. Mr. John McCann, 1037 Beatrice and other representatives presented a petition from residents of the McKee Addition for street repair. The matter of streets in the McKee Addition was cnnsidered and the town engineer estimated the cost for blade laying and patching to be approximately $500.00. Upon motio:, duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Klein, it was RESOLVED that the petition as presented be filed with the clerk and that tha matter of repairs be referred to the town engineer with authority to repair the streets in the MCKee 4ddition at an approximate cost of $500.00. Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was ordered that a two-foot extension blade for the town road grader be purchased at a cost of approximately $110.00. Eldoris Ohm Irlene Boesel Lee Yants Lorraine Danielson Mary Ann Singewald Upon motion duly made by Chairman Rahn and seconded by Supervisor Schwanz, it was RESOLVED that the Clerk be, and she hereby is, authorized and directed to purchase a copy machine for approximately $295.00, and an Edison Dictaphone machine together with service contract for the approximate sum of $326.00, and to hire a part time secretary for 2 half-days per week at an estimated cost of $1.50 per hour. Supervisor Klein moved that the town attorney take immediate legal action against the Dakota County Board of Commissioners regarding the Yankee Doodle Road agreement i1~iew of the latter's apparent refusal to respond to the last communication of the town attorney. The town attorney recommended that one more attempt be made to negotiate with the Board of County Commissioners via a representative of the Eagan Board and the Board of 60unty Commissioners. No action was taken on said recommendation. Supervisor Klein stated that he felt both the Town and County Boards should meet rather than one representati~~ from each and that the legal action wan necessary since the County Board had refused to meet as a whole. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it wes RESOLVED that all bills as presented be, and they hereby are, approved and ordered paid. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
