08/23/1966 - City Council Regular MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOAPJ) 0Ii' SJPERVISORS OF EAGAN Tor/lNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA August 2.3, 1966 A special meetiq of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Township, was held on August 23, 1966, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. at the town hall with all members present. Chairman Rahn presided. He stated that the principal purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed issuance of bonds covering the first phase of the municipal sewer aDd water projects in Eagan Township. Mr. James Olson of Juran and Moody was present to advise on the fiscal aspectr. of the bond issue. After discussion and upon motion by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that the first phase of the Eagan sewer and water prgjects be financed by the issuance of $500,000.00 in general obligation bonds and that the clerk be, and she hereby is, directed to advertise for bids covering $500,000.00 in sewer and water bonds which bids are scheduled to be opened on September 20, 1966. at 7:30 o'clock P.l. Upon mot'an by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that twelve "Eagan Township - Shooting Prohibited" signs be, and they hereby are, authorized to be purchased and that they be placed at the entrance routes to the Township. Tbe Board then discussed the proposed purchase of an additional fire truckfor the Eagan Fire Department. It was noted that the Fire Department had located a 1965 Ford fire truck and had agreed to advance the S'l.tn of $1,545.00 from earnings of the department from social activities, etc. toward the purchase of a fire truck. It was further noted that the expected grass fires which develop in open areas throughout the township beginning early in the fall has created an tmmediate requirement for a suitable fire truck for that purpose on an emergency basis. Upon motion duly made by - 1 - Supervisor Klein, eecouded by 6hairman Rahn it w~s RESC~~F,D that the Township be, and it hereby is, a~J~horh.".: t') cc;:cr;.hui.:e the sum of $900.00 toward the purchase of a 1965 Ford Fire Truck Model #250 and 1.n addition thp. sum of $305.00 for a plow that can be attached to the front of the truck; it is further understood that the Fire Department. will contribute the sum of $1,545.00 from its own earnings toward the purchase of the fire truck.
