MINUTES OF A REGUALR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
EAGAN TOWNSHIP t DAKOTA COUN'lY) MINNESOTA
January 17, 1967
A teaulsr meeting' of .~t.. dvt!i!d of .Superviaors: of ~!agan Township was
held on January 17, 1967 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. at the town hall at which
all members were present. Chairman Rahn presided.
Chairman Rahn announced that a public hearing concerning the application
of Methodist Builders of St. Paul District to re-zone the North 500 feet of
the West 500 feet of the West 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 11-27-23 from
A) Agricultural to P, Public Facilities was convened. It was noted that
a mobile home structure now occupies the premises for the Methodist Church.
The Ad~isory Planning Committee recommended approval. There being no
opposition and upon motion by Chairman Rahn) seconded by Supervisor
Schwanz it was RESOLVED that said application be, and it hereby is, granted.
Upon motion the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
There wer~ no building permit applications.
The application of Eagan Realty Company to rezone property in the
SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 and the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 12 and part
of Section 13 lying West of the center line of Highway #49 from A, Agricultural
to 1-1 Light Industrial was next presented. It was noted that the Planning
Committee recommended approval of the application relative to property west
of Highway /149, only. Upon motion by Supervisor Klein, seconded by
Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that Notice of Public Hearing be published
to be heard at the February 7, 1967, meeting at 7:30 o'clock P. M. covering
only the portion in the application west of Highway #49.

Mr. Lloyd Kurhke of Peeples Natural Gas Coropany and Mr. l-Jard Kane and
Mr. Norman Eklund of Northern States Power Company appeared relative to
the operation of utilities in Eagan T~wnshir. Mr. Kurhke read a letter
from Peoples' Gas Company to the B03rd of Supervisors signed by Mr. D. J. Pnul.
Mr. Eklund stated that a meeting was held between Northern States Power official
and People's ~s Company officials last Friday concerning gas service in

Eagan but that no'~.conc1usion for settlement of the matter had been reached.
Discussion ensued concerning Northern Natural Gas Company's position in
the matter and in addition, discussion concerning capacity and the location
of the metering site in the Rauenhorst area. Upon motion by Supervisor
Klein) seconded hy Chairman Rahn it was RESOLVED that the matter be deferred
until the regular Febr~lar.y 7, 1967, meeting ar;,d that the town attorney
contact the approprlate:: Nort:!1eru NAtural Ge.s :>epresentative to appear if
possible at that meeting to present the Northern Natural Gas position in the
matter.
Upon motion by Supervisor Klein, secon1ed by Chairman Rahn it was
RESOLVED that $416.00 plus mileage be authorized for one mOfl.thlJ police
school in Arden Hills for office Donn Smith of the Eagan Police Force.
Upon motion by Supervisor Schwanz, seconded by Chairman Rahn it was
RESOLVED that the town board authorize mem~ership of Eagan Township in the
Dakota County League of MUnicipalities at a cost of approximately $236.00
per year for a one year term beginning March 1) 1967.
The town engineer presented two applications for approval by Dakota
County Electric Co!"op for new transmisd.cn lines in Eagan Township.
