MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
EAGM~ TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINN.
April 28, 1969
A Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Eagan Township,
Dakota County was held on April 28, 1969 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the
town hall at which all members were present. William Schultz, Fire
Chief, and other representatives of the Fire Dept., Martin DesLauriers,
Police Chief, and William Branch, Public Works Supt. were also present.
Chairman Klein presided.
The Fire Department showed a film, "Before the Emergency", relating
to rescue work, dispatching and training personel for emergencies.
Mr. Schultz explained the radio and dispatching needs for the Fire and
Public Works Departments. The cost for the Fire Department would be
$13,450.00 and for the Public Works Dept. it would be $7,475.00. The
cost for the base and antenna would be an additional $1800.00 and the
estimated cost for dispatchers would be $2,250.00 per month.
The Board requested the Clerk to contact the Attorney and have
him check the methods of financing such a project and also contact
Mr. Olson, the Fiscal Consultant, in regard to the possible sale of
warrants.
The Board of Supervisors then met with Police Chief, ~~rtin
DesLauriers to go over the police budget for the year 1969-70.as revised.
Upon motion of :3upervisor Uselmann, seconded by Supervisor Rahn it was
unanimously RESOLVED that the revised budget as proposed be approved
with the exception of the portion on longevity pay, which will be
further discussed in September. It was further RESOLVED that the
base radio and antenna and 100 watt mobile radio be tied in with the
master radio plan.
Upon motion of Supervisor Uselmann, seconded by Supervisor Rahn,
it was unanimously RESOLVED that the Town would pay the full premium
of the Group Hospitalization Plan for all full-time employees and also

the premium for the dependents portion when the employee is the
"head of the household". It was further RESOLVED that compensatory
time be paid for at the rate of $3.25 per hour for comp time earned
after May 1, 1969.
Upon motion of Supervisor Uselmann, seconded by Chairman Klein
it was unanimously #ESOLVED that the fees for attending the Human
Rights Law Conference be paid for by the township for any Board
member who is able to attend.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11:30 o'clock P.M.
