June 25, 1970
A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the Town of Eagan,
Dakota County, Minnesota was held a; the Town Sall on June 25, 1970.
Those present were Chairman Klein and Supervisor P.ahn. Chairman Klein
presided.
The Chairman first announced the bid openings of the $2,740,000.00
Temporary Improvement Bonds of 1970. Two bids were received: Miller &
Schroeder, Inc. as managing agent with a bid of $2,687,940.00 at a net
interest rate of 6.8333; Another bid was received from Dain, Kalman Sc
Quail, Tnc. and First National Bank of St. Paul as managing agents with a
bid of $2,b86,844.00 with a net interest rate of b.846b6. After tabulation
and upon motion by Klein, seconded by Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the
low bid of Miller & Schroeder, Inc. be and it hereby is, accepted.
The Chairman then announced the receipt and opening of bids cave ring
the $150,000.00 General Obligation Sewer Bonds of 1970. One bid was
received from American National Bank and Trust Company of St. Paul with
a bid of $147,075.00 with a net interest rate of 6.99$8%. Upon motion
by Klein, seconded by Rahn, it was RESOLVED that said bid of American
Nattional Bank and Trust Company of St. Paul as the low bid, be and it hereby
is accepted.
Mr. Fred R. Arnold appeared on behalf of his request for a
residential building permit an a 20-acre parcel in the South z of the NEB
of the SW's of Section 27. After considerable discussion concerning the lack
of a layout for the entire area and with the understaiding that the property
owner owns a parcel running Southerly to Cliff Road for access, Upon
motion by Rahn, seconded by Klein, it was RESOLVED that the building pern-it

in the sum of $32,500 be and it hereby is approved subject however to
the understanding that no further building permits will be allowed in the
20-acre parcel until the area is platted.
Upon motion by Klein, seconded by P.ahn, it was RESOLVED that the
contract for Project X51, Part 2, be and it hereby is, awarded to the low
bidder, Northwest Bituminiaus Company in the sum of $289,530.00 covering
street improvements in Eagandale No. 1 and 3, Cedar Industrial Park and
Sibley Terminal Industrial Park.
Upon motion by Rahn, seconded by Klein, it was P.ESOLVED that t
contract for Project X49, Part 1, be and it hereby is, awarded to Northern
Construction Company as low bidder in the sum of $374,798.35.
Upvn motion by Klein, seconded by Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the
application of Donley Ruter for a variance and for building permit for a
garage at 1038 Beatrice, which variance would be for 22 feet from the lot
line, be approved with the understanding thaC the adjacent property owner
had no objection pursuant to a written letter attached to the application.
Upon motion by Rahn, seconded by Klein, it was RESOLVED that the
sign permit application of J. I. Case Company on Highway ,155 relative to a sign
6' x 12' advertising the J. I. Case Equipment Company be and it hereby is
approved.
Upon motion by Klein, seconded by Rahn, it was RESOLVED that due
to the inconvenience and delay because of strikes and the like Chat the
gravel pit permit for Solberg Construction Company at Deerwood Drive near
Highway ~~3I, be and it hereby is extended for the duration of the existLng
contracts that Solberg Construction Company has with the Township.
Upon motion by Rahn, seconded by Klein, it was RESOLVED that th e
applicationfi~r two utility permits for People's Natural Gas Company on
Yankee Doodle Road and Vernon Avenue and secondly on Lone Oak Road and

Poppler Drive, be and they hereby are approved.
Upon motion by IZlein, seconded by Rahn, it was RE50LVED that
Project ~~51 be amended to provide for the installation of calcium chloride
on the streets in Eagandale No. 1 and that the cost be charged against
Project ~k51.
Upon motion by Rahn, seconded by IZlein, it was RESQLVED that the
bills be ordered paid.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
