Meeting Date & Treasurer
Because of the close time span until the Fourth of July weekend, a
meeting was set for Monday, May 13. It was noted that the treasurer of the
committee was ill. Voracek volunteered to be the treasurer pro tem until
Bertz returned.
History Book
Duffy reported that an RFP had been prepared for the publication of the
history book, it had been sent out, proposals had been received, and the
contract for the publication had been awarded to Viking. Press. She showed a
design for the cover which would be presented to the City Council for
approval. Publication is expected to be completed before July 4.
Baked Potatoes
Masin had checked with various suppliers concerning the baked potatoes
needed for the turkey roast. The best proposal came from Rax which would
supply 2000 potatoes at cost for $400. The committee approved this idea.
Personnel
The committee expressed concerns that many people would be needed who
would volunteer time to help in some way with the celebration. Helpers would
be needed both before and on the day of the celebration. Wenzel said that he
would contact Mary Jane Sonnek of the Mendota Heights Lions Club and ask her
to attend the next meeting to explain both the procedure and the personnel
needed for the turkey roast. He will also find out how many people the
Mendota Heights Lions Club will furnish to help.
adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:15 p.m.
