Monday evening, May 6'. Demece Grout's girl scout troop
number 1039 visited Eagan's Old Town Hall. Each of the girls owns an
American doll, representing American History from 1774 through 1944.
The girls made a time line, including the dates of the 6 dolls.
Deniece then gave a brief history for each doll and, in the applicable
dates, included relative information of Eagan's history.
Each girl was given a current map of Eagan and an 1886 map showing the
names of the farms which owned each section, or part of a section. Each girl
could then know who originally owned their property.
Finally, each girl was given a ballot showing three different highlights of the
evening and they cast their ballots in the hall's voting booths and were able to
place their ballots in the ballot box which still remains there.
The girls of troop 1039 are fortunate to have deniece, a Eagan city employee,
as their leader. Fotos by ray wade
