My understanding of your situation is that you currently are on a well and septic system. Your well and septic both function and there is no need to connect to the existing city facilities. Current City policy states that when City services such as sewer and water are provided adjacent to property which is presently being served by a well and septic system, the connection to the City services is not required at the time of the installation of the City service. In the event that your well or septic system is in need of replacement, the City would require at that time connection to the existing City facility installed adjacent to your property. The installation of a new well as well as the replacement of a septic system both require permits either from the City, County or both. This connection requirement to the existing City facility only applies to a replacement of your well and septic system.
