The trusses near the fire wall separating the two units appeared to be normal and no signs of fire and/or beat related distresses were noted. 2- We reviewed the two garage roof trusses with questionable support system. We noted that hangers have been installed in order to help/improve the deficient condition of the support. We recommend that additional multi-stud. column/post (3-2x4 and 2-2x6 boards at each location) to be installed udder each of the trusses in order to improve the load bearing condition and provide a sound support. Our design follows the requirements of the 2015 Minnesota State Residential Building Code. This includes a top chord live load of 40 psf, a top chord dead load of 5 psf, and a bottom chord dead load of 5 psf. The existing floor trusses have a span of 13'-l0", are 1'-4"deep, and spaced at 2'-0" o.c. The right end of the floor truss is to be modified to allow for a new flush (2) ply 1 3/4" x 14" LVL (LVL beam has been designed by others). The floor truss modifications required are as shown on the enclosed detail on page 2 of 2 of this report. Our involvement in the design of this structure is limited to the individual members addressed and specified in this report. All other engineering and design remains the responsibility of others.
