been tested /classified by a nationally recognized independent testing laboratory (such as Underwriters Laboratories,

Dear Sir,
I write to report that there are problems of some concrete slabs of our new homes. In
particular, the concrete slab on the entry way of my home has a linear crack of appr. 2 feet in
length and 1 /4 inch in width. The slab was broken and not leveled due to the crack. My
understanding from my neighbors is that theirs also had problems on this area and some were
worse. Although my home was closed on October 6, 2006, it didn't pass the City's Inspection
in this regard. The formal occupation permit only issued in or around September 2008 after
Inspector Terry reinspected the concrete slab. However, a couple of month later, the crack
was found. I would believe that the City Inspector somehow noticed there was something not
in order and asked Brandl Anderson to rectify the problem. After discovery of the crack, I
immediately informed Brandl Anderson but they replied they couldn't do anything (they didn't
even pay a visit to look at this) because of weather condition. Since the crack has been found,
I've been communicating with their Warranty Department and wanted to have this repaired as
soon as possible but was given unreasonable excuse every time. I have been patiently waiting
for the right weather to come but the need of the repair has been consistently neglected.
Furthermore, it is worrisome to the homeowners that there could be concrete foundation
problems of the homes. We've seen the outside, what about the areas that are not easily
exposed?
I would like to make this known to your office and have it put in the record.
