The contract that we had was with the homeowner (Mr. Darrin Ciaschini) and included the removal of a basement column, the installation of new steel beams, and an opening in the load-bearing wall of the home. The project also contained foundation wall underpinning ( wall reinforcing in which we were never involved with. After preliminary design work was done, which included CAD drawings and structural notes, the homeowner wanted to cancel his contract. The preliminary drawings and notes were given to the homeowner and have not been returned. In good faith and customer service, we returned his house drawings and forfeited our entire fee. Our concern is that our preliminary drawings and notes will be used for construction. We would like to state for the record that there has been no fee paid, the drawings are preliminary, and we would like to be absolved of any involvement or liability for the project.
