Enclosed on pages 11 through -q- is a copy of correspondence that was sent to a11 the liquor
license holders about an ordinance amendment that will be considered at the June 4 City Cauncil
meeting. Since this information was sent to each liquor license holder, a copy is being provided in
advance of the June 4 meeting in case any Counciimember is contacted by a license holder about the
proposed ordinance amendment.
Redevelonment Update
The Minnesota. Supreme Caurt issued an order on May 23, 2002 affirming the Court of Appeals
ruling in Walser v. City of Richfield regarding the creation of a tax increment financing
redevelopment district. The Appeals Court found that the City of Richfield had ened in establishing
the TIF district for the Best Buy headquarters. The Supreme Court deadlocked at 3-3, therefore the
lower court ruling is effective. No opinian was issued because of the tie vote.
