BACKGROUND: Mr. Perron had been researching the possibility of purchasing a house with more character or even building a new home; however this was not financially feasible. The applicant enjoys his neighborhood and was mostly interested in changing the character of his home. With a consultant's help, they decided to give the house a"face lift". Due to the position of the home on the lot, 31' from property line, he is limited to what he can do to change its appearance. The applicant, and his consultant, chose a porch with a gabled roof line. T'hey felt this would be the least encroaching change they could make into the setback area. COMMENTS: The applicant, in an effort to create more character for kus home, has decided to put a porch on the front of his home. As drawn, the 4' x 21'6" porch will extend 4' into the setback area.
