As etated in our converstions the prob- lem is: Street water fram Orion Lane at approxiately 4363 Otion Lane goes over the curb before it gets to the storm drain on the east side of the street. This water winds its way acroes three lots west.of 4365 Ozion Lane and empties out at 1218 Carlson Lake Lane. During the course and as a result of this water drainage, various basements become wet if not flooded (1220 and 1216 Carlson Lake Lane). This water finally becomes a river running down Carlson Lake Lane and either washea away par[s of front lawns or deposits dirt, sand and rocks on them; 1215 Carlson Lake Lane, 1208 E. Balsam Trail, 1207 Carlson Lake Lane. Last year many times this water rose so high ae to come 12 feet up on my front lawn and once it was so high as to cross my front lawn into the back yard and flow six inches deep at my sliding glass door of my walkout basement. Needless to eay, my basement got wet. My neighbors down the hi11 in back of ine, 1208 E. Balsam Trail, also re- ceived water in their basement. On June 16, 1979 (just a few days ago) we received 1.11 inches of rain which did exactly as atated before. It came down Carlson Lake Lane from Orion Lane. This rain- fall created a river of water, mud, sand, and rocks down Carlson Lake Lane. Luckily the actual rain etopped before the water from Orion Lane reached Carlson Lake Lane so the two water sources were not merging on Carlson Lake at the same time or we would have had considerable damage to our property (basements and lawns). :, .. ? Some possihle solutiona to the problem are: 1) Raiae the curbs at 4363 and 4365 Orion Lane to their normai height. (They are now flattened down and sloping improperly.) Then the water can reach the storm drain at 4365 Orion Lane and not flow past the curb. A 1.11 inch rain should not jump [he curb and all storm drains should handle this amount. 2) Install larger storm draine on Orion Lane at 4365 to handle the water during even a normal rain fall. 3) Adjust the slope of Carlson Lake Lane from 1216 to the north corner at Carlson Lake and E. Balsam Trail so water runs equally on both aides of the street and enters the now drY storm drains at 1208 Carlson Lake Lane. 4) Install a etorm drdin at 1216 Carlson Lake Lane. This would collecC most of the water which is causing problems for people living on Carlson Lake Lane. This problem will not go away and will not get better with time.
