Your letter to Mr. Tom Hedges, City Administrator, on August 3, was forwarded to the Public Works Department for review and comment. A field inspection by the Engineering Division as well as the City Forester reveals there is no substantial encroachment into the corner lot sight distance referenced in Code 11.10, Subd. 7, Traf£ic Visibility. In addition, the sight distance survey reveals that for a car stopped on Denmark Avenue at Wescott Road has 636' of visibility to oncoming traffic to the west and 735' of visibility to the east. Based on the 45 mph posted speed limit in this area, there is adequate sight distance for safe reaction and emergency stopping. The hedges exacerbate the problem for southbound vehicles on Denmark Avenue. This problem will only grow with time.
